STRUCTURAL CHALLENGES
- Modifications to existing precast panels.
- Close coordination with a Precast vendor early in the design process resulted in the color and texture to match close to an existing building precast façade.
- Shallow complex geometry of the vestibule roof provided the shallow roof to support large precast pieces and match the building lines aesthetically.
EDS provided structural engineering design for New Employee Entry Vestibule Addition. Existing precast elements were studied to remove. New precast design elements were coordinated and specified to blend this addition to existing structure. Other side improvements were made such as turnstile, pavements and pathways. EDS has performed numerous projects including numerous cage washer replacements projects that required significant framing modifications and structural strengthening of existing steel to support new larger cagewashers.
