Irfan Ahmed has spent time in both California and Michigan obtaining his degrees in Engineering. He has a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Mechanics and Civil Engineering from California State University at Fullerton and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering with an academic focus on Structural Engineering from Wayne State University. He is registered with the National Council of Examiners for Engineering Surveying (NCEES) with a Records Certificate and is qualified to P.E. stamp drawings in other states in addition to Michigan. His career is rich with over two decades of world-class structural engineering executed in projects spanning the globe from Canada, Mexico and Southeast Asia as well as in the United States. Established in 2004, Ahmed erected Engineering Design Solutions to perpetuate the dream of owning an engineering firm.
Ahmed has enjoyed many fruitful experiences throughout his years within the engineering profession. Pivotal to his journey within his chosen profession is valuable interaction with the EDS team at his office, professional colleagues in the field or with university students in the classroom as an instructor. Having devoted four years in the science and law libraries at universities while pursuing his degrees, Ahmed’s passion for published technical works has grown significantly – shaping his interest in a variety of subjects. Acting as a regular contributor to the teaching staff of Western Michigan University, Ahmed enjoys his role as instructor teaching freshman civil engineering students their undergraduate courses.
