STRUCTURAL CHALLENGES
- Multiple heavy crane bays with load configurations to bring value to foundation design.
- Provided foundation solutions taking advantage of site topography and soil investigation.
EDS provided structural engineering design for 2-storey, 10,000-sft steel frame building adjacent to an existing building. New building foundations and pits were designed for 100,000-sft Pre-Engineered Metal Building (PEMB) manufacturing building with multiple cranes bays. Structure feedback was provided to PEMB manufacturer to fine-tune crane travels. Foundations were designed for wind uplift, heavy top surcharge loading for the metal polishing parts manufacturer. Cold weather construction was properly specified to help client finish the project on time and on budget.
